Integrated IQ Easy control for larger machine systems

Smart SLC IQ 4 is a central control system for machine builders and manufacturing companies that want to integrate IQ Easy functions into the machine’s existing HMI, PLC or network.

Unlike Manager IQ Easy, Smart SLC IQ 4 does not have its own touchscreen. Operation, monitoring and configuration are performed through the machine’s HMI, a computer or a web-based interface.

Up to six IQ devices can be connected directly to Smart SLC IQ 4. The system can be expanded with up to 13 Addition SLC modules, each of which can control up to six additional IQ devices. The complete installation can therefore include up to 84 devices.

Centralized monitoring and process integration

Smart SLC IQ 4 monitors the efficiency, operating status, warnings and alarms of the connected devices. The system makes it possible to integrate data from ionizing bars, sensors and other IQ-compatible products into the machine’s existing control environment.

This enables machine builders to display the information through the machine’s own user interface and avoid installing an additional screen.

Smart SLC IQ 4 supports multiple Closed Loop Feedback systems. By combining Sensor IQ Easy with compatible ionizing bars, residual static charge can be measured and regulated continuously.

Smart SLC IQ 4 or Manager IQ Easy?

Smart SLC IQ 4 is recommended for HMI integration, larger installations and OEM projects where the static control system must be an integrated part of the machine’s existing control system.

For smaller systems where a separate, ready-to-use touchscreen is required to operate the IQ Easy equipment, Manager IQ Easy will often be the simpler solution.
