CM5-30/60 Static Charge Generator: Advanced Control for Precision Charging
A static charge generator or a charging generator. CM5 is backward compatible with ECM30/60 and ECM DI30/60. For basic users, a quick setup menu is provided to configure the generator to function as an ECM 30/60. The menu is available in English, German, French, and Italian.
The new standard feature allows you to set a constant current versus a constant voltage. This provides a much more stable charging and automatically compensates for contamination and wear on the emitter points of charging bars and electrodes.
The generator regulates the accompanying current to the electrode. It detects when there is no material to be charged and switches the current to a safe low level. This prevents wear on the emitter points of charging bars and electrodes. When material is reinserted, the current switches back to a high level.
A serial bus interface can be further implemented to enable the generator to communicate through serial bus interfaces such as Profibus or CANopen (Other serial protocols available on request). Advanced Output Control is available for specific applications. This feature provides output control that is proportional to an input signal. For example, the charging level can be proportional to the machine’s speed.
