Prodigi Technology replaces traditional thermal bolts with motorized actuators for lip adjustment. These actuators are connected to adjustment threads that convert motor rotation into precise linear movements, allowing for localized opening and closing of the lip. This process is managed remotely at a user interface, away from the hot die.
During development trials, the initial thickness variation of +/- 25% was significantly reduced in just 44 seconds. After engaging APC for three minutes, an almost perfect gauge was achieved across the entire die length. In comparison, conventional thermal actuators typically require an average of 12 minutes to reach the same tolerances. This results in significant time savings, exact repeatability of production cycles, reduced scrap, and increased productive time, as final tolerances are reached much faster.
