Vortec Aluminum Air Knife 921-24-BSP
Vortec 921-24-BSP is a compressed air-powered Aluminum Air Knife designed for efficient blow off, drying and cooling of wide surfaces in industrial processes. The model has an effective air curtain length of 610 mm and is the longest standard model in Vortec’s range of aluminum air knives.
The air knife consumes 3,600 SLPM at 6.9 bar and features two BSP compressed air inlets. The two inlets support a stable compressed air supply and uniform airflow across the entire length, which is particularly important in continuous processes involving wide materials.
Application and function of Vortec 921-24-BSP
Vortec 921-24-BSP functions as an airflow amplifier. A controlled amount of filtered compressed air draws in surrounding ambient air to produce a powerful, high-velocity laminar air curtain along the entire length of the air knife.
The flat and uniform airflow can be used to remove water, dust and process residues or to provide drying and surface cooling. The air knife is particularly suitable for moving webs, films, sheets, strips and other wide objects where uniform airflow is essential.
Air consumption depends on the operating pressure. At 6.9 bar, the model consumes 3,600 SLPM. Lowering the pressure reduces both air consumption and airflow performance. An appropriately sized pressure regulator can therefore be used to adjust the airflow to the requirements of the process.
The compressed air must be filtered to 5 microns or finer. For optimum performance, the air knife should be mounted securely and no more than approximately 457 mm from the target surface. The compressed air filter and pressure regulator are ordered separately.
